The Western India Football Association Limited (WIFA) is the apex governing body for football in the Western region of India, recognized by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
Founded in 1931, The Western India Football Association Limited (Corporate Identification Number: U99999MH1931PTC001744) has been at the forefront of football development for over nine decades. Our organization was established to promote, organize, and govern the sport of football in the states of Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, and the Union Territories of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
From humble beginnings with local tournaments, WIFA has grown into a premier sports organization, hosting national-level competitions, establishing robust youth development programs, and producing players who have represented India internationally. Our headquarters, Football House in Mumbai, serves as the nerve center for all football activities in the region.
The association was incorporated as a Public Limited Company under the Indian Companies Act, 1913, reflecting our commitment to professional governance and transparency. Our long-standing registration with the Registrar of Companies, Mumbai, underscores our institutional stability and legal compliance.

Led by a democratically elected Executive Committee comprising President, Vice-Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, and members representing various stakeholders. The committee serves a four-year term, ensuring strategic continuity and accountability.
Recognized by All India Football Federation (AIFF), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (GOI), Indian Olympic Association (IOA), and affiliated with Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and FIFA through AIFF. Member of Western India Sports Association.
The Western India Football Association Limited was founded and incorporated as a Public Limited Company in Bombay (now Mumbai), with the objective of promoting football in the region.
Organized the inaugural Western India Football Championship, featuring teams from Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat. Established the first official league structure for the region.
Launched the groundbreaking WIFA Youth Academy, focusing on identifying and nurturing young talent from schools and local clubs across Western India.
Pioneered women's football in Western India by establishing the first women's league and organizing all-female coaching clinics and tournaments.
Implemented the "Football for All" grassroots program, reaching over 500 schools and establishing community football centers in rural and urban areas.
Launched the WIFA Digital Platform for online registrations, tournament management, and player database, modernizing the football ecosystem in Western India.
Our grassroots program targets children aged 6-12, introducing them to football through fun activities and basic skill development. We partner with over 300 schools across Western India, providing coaching support, equipment, and organizing inter-school tournaments. The "Young Falcons" initiative has reached over 50,000 children since 2018.

WIFA operates three residential youth academies (Mumbai, Pune, Goa) for talented players aged 13-18. The academies provide holistic development combining football training, academic education, nutrition, and sports psychology. Over 150 academy graduates have progressed to professional clubs in the I-League and Indian Super League.
Academy Details
WIFA's Coach Education Department conducts AIFF and AFC-certified coaching courses from D License to A License. We train over 500 coaches annually, ensuring quality instruction at all levels. Specialized courses for goalkeeper coaching, fitness training, and youth development are regularly conducted across the region.
Course Schedule
The flagship tournament featuring top clubs from across Western India. A month-long competition with group stages and knockout rounds, serving as a qualifying tournament for national competitions. 32 teams participate annually.

Community Football
The Western India Football Association and All India Football Federation have entered into a 5-year partnership to enhance grassroots football infrastructure across Maharashtra, Goa, and Gujarat. The agreement includes establishment of 50 new artificial turfs and training of 1000 grassroots coaches.
